Today it was my heart bursting with pride that nearly killed me. Despite knowing for over a month, I was totally unprepared for the wave of emotion when the news became official and he could tell people. God knows what I’ll be like when he’s actually out in Orlando competing*. He’s taking part in the 400m, two cycling events, two rowing events, the power lifting, shot put and discuss and has been training hard.
And I’m not saying he’s set himself high standards but we all know what we think about events that you don’t get a medal for.
I’ll be out in Orlando too, along with Fiona. I’ll try to be tweeting, instagramming, blogging and possibly even snapchatting**. So do give me a follow if you want to find out what’s going on from the friends and family side of things. Huge thanks to the Royal British Legion who is supporting the supporters while the Invictus Games Foundation and Help For Hereos sort out the 110 competitors.
*Actually I know what I’ll be like, a very proud blubbering mess.
**It’s what all the cool kids are doing apparently, you can find me by my extremely creative username of kerrygaffney.
