Last weekend saw sunshine return to the shores of the UK and the Tough Gaffs team return to the market town of Helston, Cornwall, for the awesomeness that is Helstonbury – a three day music festival based in the rather marvellous Blue Anchor, home of Spingo.
It was Helstonbury mark 12, the third one that we’ve attended en masse, though Sean was at the very first. It’s a wonderful event, featuring local bands in acoustic and live sets, raising cash for local charities and the Helston Music Academy. Basically it’s a great excuse to indulge in live music, great ale and the odd pasty(Cornish obv).
Equally obviously, we did little to no physical activity that didn’t involve dancing, drinking arms and the hill climb back to the B&B at the end of the night. Unfortunately that’s continued for the city Gaffneys, which is bad as we’re doing the Ealing half in just over two months and Total Warrior next weekend – meep!
In other less depressing news, Sean has finally got around to setting up his Just Giving page. This year he is raising cash for Get Kids Going a charity that helps disabled kids get into sport. This charity was selected by the person who sponsored him the most for last year’s Total Warrior Total Weekend. An offer that he is repeating this year, as am I. I’ve also added in that anyone who sponsors over £50 can pick the event as well as the charity – can’t say fairer than that!
